from the FAQ:
there. now whenever someone notices my weight, i'll just say i'm bulking up for my jetpack.
from the FAQ:
What happens if the engine stops?
The Martin Jetpack is equipped with a 'Ballistic Parachute'. If something untoward happens the pilot pulls a toggle and a small propellant (similar to one used in a car airbag) is fired rapidly deploying a parachute. The pilot, Jetpack and parachute descend as one.
Are we all going to be flying to work on these?
Some people will use these for work; most of us will not be able to do this for some time.
The main use for Jetpacks will initially be recreational. This is similar to current ATV, snowmobile, jet ski, and ultralight use.
Are there any restrictions on who can fly one?
Currently the pilot must weigh over 140 lbs and under 240 lbs.

no thanks! ballistic parachute my butt... :)
ReplyDeletethat sounds quite painful.
ReplyDeleteKung 4 to 5 feet above the ground ka lang naman lilipad ay okay lang. I think it is pretty much safe. Worst comes to worst, pilay lang ang makukuha mo pag nasira during flight.
ReplyDeleteKung kasing yaman ko lang si Paquiao, I will definetly buy one.
Ano ba ang maximum duration ng flight? Yung lumang jet pack kasi up to 30 sec. lang yata tumatagal ang fuel. Not very efficient and practical, that is why they abandonned it on the first place.
So where the hell will you park that thing?
ReplyDelete@gio,
ReplyDeleteang sabi sa website, max range is 31.5 miles at 63 mph (max speed).
@reno,
i would love to see the look on the parking attendant's face when i ask for a ticket while riding one of these.
at hindi yata talaga sya "jet" pack, rotors ang nagpapalipad sa kanya.
ReplyDeleteNag punta ako sa site nila. Maganda sya kasi ordinary fuel lang ang gamit. I would also like see the reaction of the gasoline boy when I go to the gasoline station with this and said "Fill her up." :D
ReplyDeleteI will just presume that 31.5 miles at 63 mph (max speed) are non-stop trip.
Mas maganda pa rin kung powers ni Maskardo or Kalayaan :p
