renaissance @ megamall: pics n stuff

renaissance artist and sanduguan creator ner pedrina was already setting up when i arrived. nice standees.

my own setup. did some shelf-clearing by selling off old books.

seatmates: mike "boy ipis" ignacio with fellow bayan knights, gio "kalayaan" paredes, omeng "lipad" estanislao, and ner.

gio getting some TV love. his star is definitely on the rise. later that day he was approached about a planned halimaw sculpture based on his kalayaan character.

the real stars of the show: the renaissance artists, thronged by autograph and sketch seekers. proceeds from the sketches went to the family of late komiks artist arlan esmena. the rest will go to other komiks artists in need.

the silent sanctum guys sure know how to set up a supercool booth: 1.) play stephen chow movie on laptop...

...2.) have manny pacquiao conquer castle greyskull. apparently, he has the power.

alfredo alcala exhibit. awesome stuff. but my favorite piece was this:

is he the most-seen komiks artist ever, or what?

my goodies. BURNE HOGARTH'S TARZAN OMG!

and i finally got this little guy to keep me company while i work.

  1. chan ko yun a, nasaharap ni mico suayan. hehe...dude made a (pun intended) kick butt Iron Fist for me & a Hal Jordan Green Lantern for my buddy. was suppose to get another sketch from mr. gerry a. e, kaso medyo matagal. manix abrera was still taking requests so i went for him & got an awesome Thor.

nakalimutan ko kumuha nung komikero & punnx :(

  2. Hey, found this post by accident. :) I hope you don't mind, but I saved and uploaded the sixth picture in this post to my FB because my friend and I are in it. She's the one getting her portrait drawn. I credited you, of course, but I thought you might want to know.

    Thank you,
    Hope Swann
