zorro/zero
someone please tell me in which planet this billboard image makes any kind of sense:

right. "after a long day of protecting innocent serfs from oppresive colonial dictators, i like to kick back with a refreshing glass of coke zero. es no calorias!"
weeeeell i guess that's still better than this one:

billy you old kidder you.

dina goldstien: fallen princesses

says photogapher dina golstein:
The project was inspired by my observation of three-year-old girls, who were developing an interest in Disney's Fairy tales... I explored the original brothers Grimm's stories and found that they have very dark and sometimes gruesome aspects, many of which were changed by Disney. I began to imagine Disney's perfect Princesses juxtaposed with real issues that were affecting women around me, such as illness, addiction and self-image issues.
hm... so it's art photography by an art photographer. but without looking at the last two images above, i would've mistaken the intent for nothing more than digital-age spoofery. but then i am neither a fairy tale character nor a princess. any thoughts from the ladies?

more about that shirt

i don't know what i was thinking when i bought shirts in four colors. now i don't know what to do with 'em.
so here's the deal: if you can make a color scheme i like better than the ones above, i'll give you a free shirt in your color scheme.
in other news, here's the self-defeating headline of the day.
also, would you die if someone flushes you down the tiolet? not necessarily.

featured on spicywebdesigners.com... sorta

i work as a freelance character designer with the folks at tisme.com.au, and they were recently featured on spicywebdesigners.com. i got to answer one interview question:
7. What kind of projects do you work on for clients and how did you earn the title of “mascot illustrator”?
Answered by FERDINAND, a mascot illustrator at Tisme.com.au: Basically I get called in when the client wants to project a specific personality, image or message through a character design. Mascots work in a similar fashion to any logo in that they represent the company and its ideals, but mascot designs can also give the consumer some things logos can’t; a face, a look, a human touch. We respond instinctively to eye contact and body language, and that’s the area of expertise for a mascot designer – to try to get the audience to relate to a brand on that intimate, personal level.

budjette tan reviews "ang maskot"!
It is great to see a local creator do a “pop comic” like this. A “pop comic”, as Warren Ellis defined it, is a finite story, a done-in-one, a wakasan-story, that even a non-comic book reader can appreciate. We need more stories like this, to get more people reading comics and to get more people reading locally produced comics.

ang maskot @ comic odyssey galleria

buti nalang 'di mahirap hanapin ang "ang maskot", na nasa comic o-d-y-s-s-e-y sa robinson's galleria.

fan art

my two favorite bayan knights: phantom cat and boy ipis.
boy ipis is actually supposed to work at a bank when out of costume, but here i re-imagined him as a pre-adolescent.
